Anybody using jurassic D1x anymore? (7 imgs)

Hi,
I decided to take my museum-grade camera with me when I took my 4-yo daughter to the playground. The camera's batteries are leaking acid and plutonium, half of the pixels have been eaten by rust and rot and the mirrors and lenses are covered with fossilized fungus.

But it stubbornly keeps on working :biggrin:

With such a photogenic subject, I think that you would get great results using an empty Coke bottle, some gelatin and a handful of AgI crystals. :biggrin:

I used to have two of them, both with Li-ion batteries too. My daughter still uses one.
There is something special about the D1x images.

I just might get one Li-ion battery, I've learned those work well with a D1x too.

They were (and are) excellent cameras with wonderful large pixel character. You can't give them away anymore, so I just keep mine (and the D1h) and occasionally take them out shooting. They are always a pleasure, so long as you take fully charged extra batteries.

Lovely photos Peter. I still enjoy using my D1x bodies when I can. Mine have been religated to a back-up role now but on occasion I'll use one as a main camera for certain situations.
