Nikon Europe published it today here.

From the site:
About this firmware update
The D300 has two different sets of firmware, A and B. This download upgrades the A firmware to version 1.02 only.
This firmware resolves an issue which, in rare cases, causes vertical bands to appear in images captured at shutter speeds slower than 8 seconds.

Interested?

I've not done a huge deal of long exposure work since getting my D300, so i've not seen this fault, but I might as well update the firmware.

No, not like the banding issue, from what I have heard it is a software processing/writing issue, but I know enough to not believe everything I hear,

Caution DUMB QUESTION ALERT aka DQA. This thread has me curious, How dose one go about getting the "updated firmware" to the camera? I understand the process of getting it downloaded but not getting it to the camera. Do you use the USB cable or cf card?:confused::confused:
*** If you don't won't to boar the others you may PM back to me

It actually says how to very detailed in the link above.

The link above is for the mac version, if you click that link and just hit the search button at the top it will give you the option for the windows download.

Here's something interesting. You can't update the firmware using the MB-D10 with AA batteries. The camera told me it can't update using these batteries. I had to take off the grip to start the update.
