Hi guys,

Instead of creating another thread for a simple question, I thought I'd just ask here
For the D5100 owners... can you please check your rear dial and let me know: Is it plastic or rubberized?

thanks!

By "rear dial", do you mean the one behind the shutter release that I use to change aperture or shutter speed, or the D-Pad with the OK button in the middle? Doesn't matter much either way because both of mine are plastic.

Hi guys,

Love the camera was a bit apprehensive to shoot iso800, but very clean!
My first real play with it on holiday in Italy, Rome Zoo.

VC is incredible!

Alot of these photos were shot through dirty glass so really tried cleaning them up.

Link.

decided to take the plunge. Getting used to the camera..used to using Canons P&S's. May take awhile to learn. Seems like the focus is a little off. Matrix metering doesn't work well. Have to use spot metering with AF-S on both the 18-55mm and 55-200mm kit lens's. Not sure how to tell what firmware I have and if there is a firmware update that might help this.

I took this while driving by. I think the camera focused on the background building..I liked the colors anyway. Don't look too close I butchered the photoshop coverup.

Thanks Russ, I was using the Nikon 24-120mm F4, its my main portrait lens. Im liking the d5100, just need a bit more time to get used to it. One more from that shoot (blue tint added by me in cs5)
