In .nl, sony G 32gb still at 179 euro (incl 21% VAT), lexar 2933x 32gb at 159 euro. :( Lexar sloooowly coming down in price, sony's hardly any movement in price.

Good news:
Sony has lowered pricing on their fast version 2.0 XQD (G series) cards to compete with the recently marked down Lexar cards. Since the Sony G cards come with readers they're now less expensive than a Lexar card plus a Lexar card reader mentioned in my post above.

I ordered the 128GB Sony G Series today for $169 from B&H, great deal with reader and now will have it before the D500 comes which is good news! :)

At US prices can't you import them (and pay the fees/taxes) and beat those prices?
Yes I could. Amazon germany has lower prices too. Chance that they are caught by customs and that you have to pay extra import duty is not that big, but it's possible. Biggest 'problem' is, there are only a few online shops selling XQD, a pricewatch/comparing site only lists 3 for the sony's. It'll get better.

I would like to get XQD for my d500, but I seriously doubt the need for one.SD 280mb/s should be plenty enough for 3-4 second burst and 4k video, cheaper and much easier to use, due no need for adapter.

I plan to use both, I like the ability to have the second slot for either backup or just added storage.

Anybody notice the Nikon Rumors post that says:
"Note that G series are the old version XQD cards that were recently replaced by the new M series (more info available here)."

As far as I know, the M do not replace the G, anyone else hear this? I just left a comment on the thread at Nikon Rumors asking for clarification.

FACT: They're most definitely NOT old version XQD cards (they have the USB logo which is only appropriate for Version 2 XQD Cards). The Sony XQD Product guide substantiates this fact.

The G series cards were readily available when the M series cards were announced. So, yes, the M series is the latest series of XQD cards from Sony but at less than 1/2 the write speed they're most definitely not the replacement for the G series (if they are buy 'em up now -- while G series prices are almost the same as M series cards).

This just goes to show that we should not believe everything on the internet....Nikon Rumors is incorrect in this instance.

That was my understanding as well, Geoff. It will be interesting to see if NikonRumors corrects that, if I can find a direct email link for them I will send this there as well.

Well, the G is the "Old Version", just like me!
It is the "oldest" Sony version 2 card but when I hear old version wrt XQD cards it means version 1 to me.....
I replied to NR's reply to you so now we can all be confused....:p

And, today, I feel like an old version as well (65 has something to do with that)....:(

No, the G is the George version just like me! :) .....and Geoff version too.

Actually got mine today, 128GB, Read Speed 400MB/s, Write Speed 350MB/s which as mentioned above is faster than the "new" M series. By the way this card will work in my D4 however I will only get the older speeds while in the camera. Should transfer to my PC at the fast speed. I bought it for the D500 though....
