Do you Wordle? Part 1

Dang was a tough one, after I had my second word guess (I really thought I had it in two because of current war), I was guessing all sorts of weird words, unusual esoteric words, and then on 5th guess things that were not words, until duh….. it hit me.

I keep seeing info about people quitting Wordle because it’s too hard. Don’t like double letters. We have a clever community here, so not a lot of failures being reported, but wouldn’t you like it a bit more if failure was a little more likely? If Pa takes more than three guesses I think he’s swearing under his breath.

I don’t get the point of an easy game that you always win. Do you like crossword puzzles or word searches? No offense to word search fans. Arm wrestling with toddlers? No offense to toddlers.

Anyway, I’m just saying that tough is fun. Maybe we should all start with the same sub-optimal word every day, to make it more challenging. Something like “click” or “photo” or “flash”.

That could be fun, however, many may not want to do that Because of their average guess number. I really do not care, just like having fun. Heck my average since the NYtimes took over is much better than the first weeks doing it at the original site. Of course, early days I would throw words at the first two slots to get maximum impact and rarely used correct letters in the second word, whereas I no longer do that as much, although a lot of good that did me on today’s word. Still shaking my head about four different rare words with three letters in same correct spot. Lol.

Simply adjust your thinking so that you lost it if you didn't get it in three.

I use this starting word quite a bit. This is the first time it worked so well! LOL! 4 consonants and a vowel.

Wordle remains a fun daily diversion, but most solutions are achieved in five minutes or less, and so far none have been unsolvable to me. For more entertainment (and only an 81% success rate) I move on to Quordle. There is also Octordle. And Nerdle. And my daughter (who loves maps as much as I do) has turned me on to the very entertaining Worldle.

5 minutes? I had a holding pattern from hell trying to figure out the third guess for 10 minutes. Lol. Fowl smelling, just yuck, just….. My mind went blank.
