The original problem was first posted here on Jan. 3. One of the patches has already been withdrawn because it was BSODing some AMD systems.

I'm not sure I understand this. What Intel patch? Intel doesn't patch my Windows 10 systems.

I think what happened was that Intel issued faulty patches to computer manufacturers, so new machines had new drivers that were unstable. I don't see how this would have affected existing computers.

I don't think this is much of a story and I don't think the journalist understood what he was writing about.

I believe that Intel provided code to the manufacturers for BIOS updates that was unstable. HP pushed out a BIOS update a week or so ago, and I wish I had waited like I normally do. It was marked critical, so I did the update. I have not yet had problems, but many others have. HP then issued a rollback BIOS update. I suspect that I should install that ASAP, but I would like to make sure that I am not digging this "hole" any deeper. The only difference between a grave and a rut is depth.

Well I did install the update on my main machine the AMD 1950X on the ASUS Zenit Extreme motherboard and YES I had problems. The update caused the AI suite to stop working and messed with performance of the machine. It also stopped me from setting fan speeds/ CPU speeds ETC. I however have this problem fixed now and have full control of my motherboard functions. ASUS still hasn't issued an update to their bias as yet?
