Access to this waterfall is on an easy trail about one-half mile long through a gorgeous rhododendron forest. It's located in Pennsylvania's Hickory Run State Park.

I really like this shot, Mike. Nicely composed, good choice of ss, and the light on the rhodies at left brings them to attention and tells us more about the location. Well done.

Hi Mike, looking forward to more of your shots from the trip. These bring me good memories. You got a postcard shot of those falls. One thing, not to nitpick, but I believe those are mountain laurels which resemble rhododendrons. The state flower of PA. My mom tried to grow them down here but they did not like our climate and or soil. Also, hope you didn’t come across any rattlesnakes!!!

I have to disagree with you on this, John. We have both plants in abundance in our area, and the leaves on the plants in Mike's excellent photo are definitely those of rhododendron.

Laurel bloom in late Spring, rhododendron in midsummer.
