There must be a simple way to determine the total # of photos taken on a D70s, D200, or D2X. I've searched all 3 manuals and cannot find it.

I'm selling a D70s tomorrow and the buyer wants to know total # of pictures taken. Can anyone answer this tonight?

Thank you!!

I knew it was embedded in there but ....

I downloaded Opanda and IranView - still do not see it. Actually I see the field in IrfanView but it does not show a number. And I do not see in Opanda. Oh well, it is late and I am tired.

None-the-less it is in there somewhere. I guess you solved already too!

Another small note (not sure it was mentioned). When you convert your NEFs to jpeg in PS, use the "save as" command, NOT "save to web". Save to web removes all EXIF data.

Paul,
Would tell me how may shots I have taken. Here is one of the last photos taken. Loaded to computer via Nikon transfer ,processed raw in NC, played with in PS, resized and "Save-AS" in PS jpg.

Thank you.

I think somebody above wanted a link to Opanda

It is : www.opanda.com

BTW-The IrFanView is pretty cool if you have not tried it out before and I believe this proggie is free-ware where the Opanda one has a trialware and a proggie you have to buy. This is not a bad thing, but I do not think I have a need for the Opanda proggie.

In Opanda I get some bogus data in some of the EXIFs I looked at. IrfanView seemed to work better and I get better results. Anyway, I am not sure but maype some proggie's can mess up the exif structure in the file?

Oh and in your case it looks the vendor specific data is not there or bogus?

That's the EXIF data you got, here as a comparison is EXIF from a photo of mine using Opanda (I used BOLD for the Shutter Actuations and deleted some useless data):

The only thing I can think of is that my usual method of transferrinf files from CF to PC is via ACDSee... maybe it's munging with the files during the transfer? I tried another file and it said "9" and I know I've shot way more than 9 pictures... at the time I'd taken these pictures I was well beyond 9 for that day... do you think something wrong with my camera
