The moon isn't an oval because it's a composite image, separate exposures for the main scene and the moon. :smile:

This last time when I was there in October I was told that local police were warning photographers not to taken any shots of the bridge...

I've spent several hours there, over a period of 3 or 4 days. Haven't heard anything about not taking shots of the bridge. Same thing with the bridge in detroit.

Kerry, this image is just beautiful. How much post-processing was necessary? Did you experiment with exposure times? Thirty seconds is a long time, did 30 seconds produce the best results?

Dunno what the 2 points of light might be, if not stars or planets. I'm not into astronomy, so don't have much of a clue there. :redface:

Not much post was done, other than doing the composite for the 2 images.

Yes, I experimented with exposures, but only to a certain degree. I think I could have gotten a little better exposure with bulb, instead of the max 30secs in camera, but it was too cold to fuss with that. :redface:

I'm surprised the short exposure of 30 secs yielded this much detail. I tend to use much longer shutter speeds for my scenes, 5 to 15 minutes being typical.

Also, I wonder whether there is striping in the darker areas (if you lighten by a curve tool) ?
