Considering the $35 price tag of the wine, it's more photogenic than tasty. 😱 It's a decent wine in my mind, but better wines can be found for the same price.

Setup
The tabletop and background are boards made by V-Flat World. Capture #1: A small continuous-light lamp high on the left was shining through a diffusion panel that added reflections to the wine glass and bottle. Black matte Cinefoil attached to the lamp on the rear added the shadow on the left to balance the wine bottle's shadow. Capture #2: A curved white reflector at the front of the bottle was used primarily to evenly light the text on the label. The label, foil and cap from Capture #2 were moved to Capture #1. Capture #1 was a series of nine focus-bracketed images at Nikon step size 3 stacked in Helicon Focus at default settings.

Thanks also to Felix!

Coonawarra or Barossa wine areas
I've had very enjoyable wines from all over Australia including those areas. My biggest problem is that Australia tends to make red wine with relatively high levels of alcohol, understandably so because of the heat. I prefer red wine with relatively low levels of alcohol. When I do find a red Australian wine that I like, it's never priced at a bargain, unlike wine from other parts of the world. Having said that, I thoroughly enjoy a high-alcohol Australian Shiraz when it's made really well, and in that case I don't care as much about the price.

I've had stunning wines from Australia, just not Western Australia. Hunter Valley is truly world class, as is much of Barossa and Clare Valley. I'd take most Aussie Chardonnay's over most Calif offerings. And probably the same for Riesling.

Cheers!
