Duh! Center button on the multi selector

I have had this d300 for about 4 years and totally forgot about this feature till I started cleaning out Scott Kelby podcasts. Somehow I had it set all this time for histogram. I changed it today for zoom/medium. Far more useful

Funny! I just found I could set it histogram - so I've done that, far more useful :biggrin:

What's the best third party book for the D300? I have had the camera for a while but only tinkered with it and haven't really taken the time to really see what this thing can do. Once it's back from repair, I need to dive on in.

"Mastering the Nikon D300/D300S" or "Mastering the Nikon D300" by Darrell Young (amazon.com, in a Kindle version as well)
Thom Hogan's e-book (www.bythom.com)

I've had several books including Busch's and Darrell's is by far the best.

In my D300, when I choose the 'S' priority, the shutter priority, the shutter speed is not going beyond 1/250 with x shown before 250 in the display on LCD. As a result I am unable to use the shutter priority. Can any one tell, how to solve this problem?

Turn your adjusting wheel the opposite direction, you went the wrong way.

'Morning Roy. Recommend earlier but you may not have seen it:

This is an excellent guide that will help you move forward and understand your camera a bit better.

I've had my D300 a number of years now and have my reference in my bag all the time. Even with a lot of use, I find there are functions I don't use that much and can use the refresher from time to time.
